This week we did a lot of 'getting to know you' activities. We made time capsules which have been buried until the last week of Primary 3/4. In them we put photos, self-portraits, our heights, writing and our hands and feet.
We all have hands at our desks with our names on them. We picked words for other people to write on their hands. The words all say nice things about what people are like, such as cheerful, helpful, tidy, sporty, artistic, enthusiastic, lively, mathematical and kind.
We started work on our topic, or project, which is called Holiday Orkney. We shared
ideas about:
- why people go on holiday
- why people come to Orkney on holiday
- how people choose where to go on holiday
- what people need to do to prepare for going on holiday
We had PE and learned the rules for skittle rounders. When we had PE with Mrs Cromarty it was sunny and we went outside.
In Art we drew self-portraits. We didn't use mirrors so they show what we think we look like.
We held an election to choose our class reps on the Pupil Council and Eco Committee - all of the people who wanted to stand got up and made a short speech in front of the class before we all voted.
We started working on times tables in maths. We played lots of games to practice them. We all think the 2x table and 10x table are easy!
